The importance of core values…
Core values are essential because we only do what we truly believe, and core values help us determine as a church what we should be doing as a result of our beliefs. These would be values posted as signs on the church walls for all to see. The strategy is to weave the core values into the language and lives of those who attend our church. Andy Stanley, Pastor of North Point Community Church in Atlanta asked at a conference “Is what’s hanging on the wall happening down the hall?” As the core, we must incorporate these values into the life of our church. We will teach them, quote them, and speak of them often. Core values are not up for debate; they are non-negotiable for our church.
